Chief Warden Training & Emergency Coordinator Skills

Having skilled people able to safely conduct emergency evacuations is vital for protecting lives and property. First 5 Minutes provides specialist chief warden training to ensure your Chief Warden or Emergency Coordinator (for healthcare facilities) and their deputies are prepared to take command and coordinate all aspects of workplace emergency response procedures, resulting in the safe and efficient evacuation of building occupants.

Who is Chief Warden Training for?

This course is specifically designed for the Chief Warden, Deputy Chief Warden or Emergency Coordinator, who are required to respond to any type emergency in the workplace.

These key people are responsible for:

  • Determining the emergency response procedures to be implemented
  • Overall management and control of the incident until the fire brigade arrives
  • Principal point of contact and communication with the building wardens and the fire brigade for the duration of the incident

With such crucial responsibilities, chief fire warden training requires a higher and more specialised level of training than building wardens.

We recommend that Chief Warden and Emergency Coordinator Skills training is performed in conjunction with Warden / Emergency Officer Skills training and Evacuation Exercises, in order to form a fully trained and competent Emergency Control Organisation (ECO). Staff should take part in chief fire and safety training skills sessions at least every 6 months.
