Fire at Werribee Winery, VIC

Just after 7am Tuesday the 30th of May, a large blaze broke out in the kitchen of Shadowfax Wines, located on K Rd in Werribee, Victoria.Fire crews from Geelong and Melbourne’s outer west were quickly on the scene, with 11 trucks battling the fire. No injuries were reported. The fire was brought under control by 7:40am.Motorists were advised to avoid the area due to the thick smoke present. The cause of the blaze is still unknown, but officials are not treating it as suspicious.A commercial kitchen is one of the most common locations of workplace fires. This incident highlights the importance of being prepared especially if you have a premises with a commercial kitchen or on-site cafeteria.
