Fire Safety Audits
The objective of Fire Safety Audits is to set out a structured process of auditing fire safety within the built environment against specific benchmarks in the Building Code of Australia (BCA), Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and or Manufacturer’s Specifications to adequately gauge, to differing levels of confidence, the effectiveness and suitability of installed fire safety measures and to ensure that adequate maintenance records are compiled and retained. Persons who may have a vested interest in a Fire Safety Audit include facility owners, occupiers or property managers.
Fire Safety Audits are governed by Australian Standard 4655 and are set into three levels. First 5 Minutes will normally only conduct Level 1 Audits. First 5 Minutes auditors undergo a comprehensive internal course that involves both written and practical testing. They are then assessed for competency before commencing any works. This ensures that when you use First 5 Minutes your auditor is knowledgable, experienced and will ensure a quality result.
Fire Safety Audits can be undertaken for many and varied reasons such as to indicate compliance with statutory requirements, as part of risk management, insurance risk assessment or analysis against current legislation and standards.
