Virtual fire extinguisher training – it’s virtually impossible to beat!

Thanks to First 5 Minutes Pty Ltd, it’s now possible to train your staff to use a fire extinguisher to safely extinguish a fire without the need to light a fire or discharge harmful chemicals. Our virtual fire extinguisher training is safe, clean and green, and it can be conducted in any training room, boardroom or office. It’s a world first!

This virtual training system – known as ‘V’ – has been developed in Australia by First 5 Minutes following intensive work with the Australian Cooperative Research Centre. The advanced computer simulated environment in use guarantees participants are delivered a very real fire fighting experience.

A virtual fire is projected onto a screen using a data projector. The technology requires participants to energise their specially developed fire extinguisher by pulling out the pin before aiming appropriately and using the correct sweeping action as they discharge the extinguisher and fight the fire.

The virtual training system and the First 5 Minutes training consultant both provide participants with feedback to ensure correct techniques are developed. Failure to take the right action will result in the virtual fire getting out of control. Participants can reignite the fire and practice their technique until they have mastered the process.

A First 5 Minutes training consultant will come to your premises to conduct the training in your training room, boardroom or office. The training will begin with a short theoretical introduction. Topics including the chemistry of fire, classification of materials, and the identification of different fire extinguishers and their safe method of operation will be discussed. Then all course participants will extinguish their own virtual fire.
