HOT fire extinguisher training – minimal risks, maximum returns

First 5 Minutes Pty Ltd has revolutionised hands-on fire extinguisher training. Our state-of-the-art HOT training system provides participants with a real fire fighting experience without putting the participants or the environment at risk.

The HOT training system is microprocessor controlled. It allows participants to use a compressed air/water training fire extinguisher to extinguish a real fire in a LP gas fire tray.
The HOT extinguisher emits a directional ultrasonic signal from the tip of the nozzle. The microprocessor determines exactly where the participant is aiming and sweeping. Variable electronic valves constantly adjust the amount of LP gas sent to the burners in the HOT fire tray, simulating the fire's response to the extinguisher. Different types of fires and difficulty levels can be selected.

• Aim at the base of the fire and sweep slowly across it and the flames will gradually go out.
• Aim poorly or sweep incorrectly and the flames will continue to grow.
• Fail to sweep all the way across the base of the fire and only the areas of the fire that were hit will be extinguished.

The extinguishers can be refilled with air and water during the training which allows for unlimited use in a single training session.

A First 5 Minutes training consultant will come to your premises to conduct the training which begins with a short theoretical introduction. Topics including the chemistry of fire, classification of materials, and the identification of different fire extinguishers and their safe method of operation are discussed. Then all course participants engage with the HOT training system to extinguish their own fire.
